Japan - Is officially known as Nihon or Nippon (Land of the Rising Sun). Japan is an Asian Country and is made up of over 3,000 islands east of the Sea of Japan, China, North Korea, South Korea, Russia and having Taiwan to it's south. Japan has quickly risen to become the second most technologically powerful economy in the world after the US and the third-largest economy in the world after the US and China. Cooperation between Government and industry, coupled with strong work ethics, mastering high technology, and a small defense allocation (1% of GDP)<-no waste-> contributed to this rapid growth. The first signs of civilization on Japan appeared with a Paleolithic culture around 30,000 BC. Japan is rich in culture, technology, beauty and Mount Fuji with cherry blossom trees are iconic of Japan.
